Grouting is the final step of installing ceramic wall tile after the tile adhesive has fully cured. This task is less time consuming and labor intensive than installing tile but it s even more important than making sure all your tiles are straight and look nice. One key to success is to remember that grout has a limited working time and can dry before you know it. Use the center tile as a reference point and install the remaining tiles along straight lines.

The process that i use will allow you to get the perfect finish on your tiles. Place spacers between the tiles to establish the grout lines. I am using pre mixed grout for th. If adhesive oozes up between tiles when you press the tile into place you are using too much adhesive. Grouting may seem scary but it doesn t need to be. Grouting is not difficult to do well but it is even easier to do poorly.

In this video i show you how to grout tile. Spread the material in sweeping arcs pressing it into the joints to fill them completely. After tile is installed the next step is grouting the gaps between tiles. Use a hard edged rubber grout float and hold it at a 45 degree angle.

Grout it may not command the same attention as your tile but your grout is an important part of the installation process that affects the overall look.
